A little about ourselves, we are a fully registered Estate Agency, both A.P.I. here in Spain & N.A.E.A.(Overseas) in the UK, based here in La Escala, the heart of the Costa Brava. We are professionals and I personally have over 25 years experience in the Spanish property market here in La Escala.
Our area is in the main, the whole of the Costa Brava, from the French border to Barcelona, with a range of prices that start at just £75.000 up to £900.000, both new and re-sale.
Many of our clients are purchasing with an eye to investment, i.e. the rental potential, as a general rule one can return a gross of up to 6% approximately on the purchase price of the property PLUS of course the yearly increase in the value of the property which is running at 18%!!! Annually at the moment. We will be happy to explain how this works and indeed can rent the property for you.
Another form of investment is to purchase property off of plan and then sell on before completion, and works like this, E.g. A property to be, or just started in, construction will take approximately 12 – 18 months to complete and has a purchase cost today of say £150.000. Freehold. Upon signing the purchase contract you will have to pay approximately 25% of the property, £37.500 and nothing else until the property is complete in 12 – 18 months time by which time you will have sold the property on at +18% (current property price increases per annum). Simply put, for an outlay of £37.500 your potential return will be £27.000. which represents a massive 72% profit.
Risks involved?…the worst scenario is that the market falls flat, no real increase in value (unlikely) means that you will have to complete the purchase as per the contract you signed (with a mortgage at just 3.5% if required) which would result in you owning the property which you place on the tourist rental market and wait until the value increases to then sell it on. During which time of course you have the use as your holiday home, away from peak times naturally.

Should you decide to fly, our nearest airports are Ryanair to Gerona, 35 minutes drive from L´Escala, or Barcelona, a 1½ hr drive, or Ryanair to Perpignan, 55mins. The Ryanair flights are extremely cheap especially mid week, prices from £25 return so well worth coming to see for yourself.
If you choose not to fly then La Escala is, in a reasonable saloon car, approximately 11 hours on the motorway from Calais.
